Hello everyone!! I am being a little lazy in updating my blog on regular basis. Sorry for that. Today I am sharing an explosion box I made for father’s day in a theme that was provided by Artful Crafting http://artful-crafting.com/wordpress/2016/06/challenge-14-rustic/#more-6063
It asked us to craft something rustic, outdoors and with some family warmth to it. What better way to depict family then a handmade explosion box for a Father 🙂 🙂
Rustic for me is lots of brown, jute, twine and wood. I tried combing all these elements but of course client’s demand had to be taken under consideration too 🙂
I used Tattered Time paper pack (bought from Artful Crafting) to cover the outside of the box. 2 sides were covered with glossy paper and 3 sides with plain printed paper from the pack and I used the Tim Holtz clock die cut to make those gorgeous blue clocks 🙂
The lid of the box has embossed stamps. The key is stamped and embossed and then cut out by hand. I made a small nest too to depict family.
The box had 3 layers to it. The bottom layer had 2 waterfall cards. Loved trying it out! Will post the tutorial for it soon. The second layer had 4 pockets and the top most layer had 2 accordion cards tied up with jute twine.
Hope you all will like this project..
